Solutions to bridge the Digital Divide
- Access/Affordability – The government should treat internet access like the early-twentieth century government treated telephone service – “having fast reliable internet access is a basic human right”
“The internet shouldn’t be a luxury but a necessity”
Availability of private and public funding and the willingness of local operators, local government, and affordable housing providers to engage in bridging the digital divide to meet the demand.
Skills/Education – The education system could probably implement a program for students to learn these computer skills at a pre-educational level – to set everyone (hopefully) off at the same level.
