Solutions to bridge the Digital Divide

  1. Access/Affordability – The government should treat internet access like the early-twentieth century government treated telephone service – “having fast reliable internet access is a basic human right

“The internet shouldn’t be a luxury but a necessity”

Availability of private and public funding and the willingness of local operators, local government, and affordable housing providers to engage in bridging the digital divide to meet the demand.

  2. Skills/Education – The education system could probably implement a program for students to learn these computer skills at a pre-educational level – to set everyone (hopefully) off at the same level.
